Every once in while something happens here that makes you
remember that you are living in Africa. A good example occurred a few weeks ago
when a farm worker came to our gate and told Kerri Roberts he had something to
show her. That thing happened to a twelve foot rock python. The worker said
that he had killed it (in fear) and was going to harvest oil from the snake
that is used locally to treat ear conditions. Although we have never seen one
this big, rock pythons can grow bigger.
