Visiting Chikankata Hospital

Karen, Leah and I drove 30 minutes up the very bumpy Chikankata road to visit what used to be one of the most well known hospitals in the area. Karen is a nurse and Leah is a Physician’s Assistant so they were very interested to see what a hospital in the village might look like. The Chikankata Mission Hospital has been run by the Salvation Army for the last 60 years. We had a great tour of the facilities and talked with the director Simon Ledger. The ladies were very impressed! At the end of our visit we were able to give the hospital many walkers and crutches that were donated to us and put on our container.  The hospital staff was so thankful and appreciative!
